More than a decade ago by Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson and John Vlissides known as the Gang of Four (GoF) published their seminal book "Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software". I wish that it did not contain all of the cartoons. Dobb's Excellence in Programming Award 2001, Jonathan Erickson, May 1, 2001. The verb “Software Pattern” is present for couple of decades and it came into limelight with GOF (Gang of Four) publishing their book “Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software” in 1994. Jon Bentley The "Gang of Four" — Richard Helm, Erich Gamma, Ralph Johnson, John Vlissides — authors of Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software (Addison-Wesley, 1995). Troy Goode originally recommended this book to me. My PhD involved building a message passing library using C#; not accessing an existing MPI library from C# code but creating a brand new MPI library written entirely in pure C#. The result is In designing my MPI library I embraced the object- oriented style, using a layered and modular architecture and incorporating six different common software design patterns (described by the “Gang of Four” in “Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software”). Anders Hejlsberg, compiler writer, author of Turbo Pascal, Delphi, and C#. Dobb's Journal's Excellence in Programming Awards 1998, Jonathan Erickson, March 1, 1998. Other books I've read and recommend. Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. Several There are only two things that I don't like about it. Also, I wish the samples were C#/VB.NET instead of Java. In 1994, the release of the book Design Patterns, Elements of Reusable Object Oriented Software made design patterns popular. Design Patterns : Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software by Erich This is the book known as the Gang of Four book and it is considered required reading if you want to learn about software design principles and patterns. Also known as the “Gang of Four” (GoF) book, Design Patterns is full of elegant solutions to commonly occurring problems in software design. C# in Depth: What you need to master C# 2 and 3 by Jon Skeet This is for serious C# developers who already have a background in the language.
